My First Social Outing Since COVID-19 Arrived

I enjoyed my first social outing in more than four months yesterday afternoon. It was 100% outdoors and social distancing was in place.

George and Sue Rebar, who are my nephew Phil’s parents-in-law, invited Phil and Wendy and their kids (Casey and Jamie) and Jackie and me to an outdoor dinner in their back yard.

Sue  and Jackie prepared the meals; Sue got the freshly-caught salmon from her dentist, and we had a great time visiting for a couple of hours.

George kept the fire pit crackling and blazing.

There’s was lots of chatting and laughter, but none of it is worth reciting here, or you know I would!

Free Chain Link Panels–WHEEE!  Thanks Sue and George!

Sue and George are going to give me 13 chain link fence panels so I can bolster the parts of the goat fence where welded wire (instead of fencing panels) still exists. It would have been just a matter of time before the goats found their way under or over the welded wire, so it’ll be great to have almost the entire remaining fence line finished with chain link. I can buy hog panels to finish off the few remaining places. (We place those in front because they look so nice and because we can feed through them easier than through chain link.)

I’ll be bringing the chain link panels over in the next three weeks or so. We have to rent a truck to take all of the remodel detritus out of here, so we’ll use it to bring over the fencing, too.  That’ll save us a second truck rental.

In Other News…

Phil and Jackie helped me cut and place the remaining missing baseboards in my living room yesterday morning, so now my living room and bedroom are finished. YAY!

There isn’t much else going on here that’s worth writing down for posterity. We’re in a holding pattern as far as additional remodel/upgrade is concerned because our volunteer workers can only work on weekends.

Guess I’ll just shut up now, since that’s the case!
