Biden-Harris Employment

Biden Harris Paraphernalia

Today I officially threw my hat in the ring to work (remotely/virtually) for the Biden-Harris administration.

I was personally invited to apply in 2007 for the Obama-Biden administration, but they required relocation to Chicago or Washington D.C., and I’m unable to do that because I have obligations here.

But in this new world of remote/virtual employment, I just figured I might have a chance to land something with the incoming administration that can use my writing talents.

I’ve been a lifelong Democrat (even when the party ticks me off, they’ve always been better – during my lifetime at least–than the GOP); it’s in my DNA.  My paternal grandmother worked locally in her area for FDR and JFK; I believe she was a campaign manager or something like that. I know she had personalized autographed photos of FDR and JFK in her living room, and I envied the heck out of her…

Anyway, I’ve always wanted to contribute to America in a major way, and this is one of the avenues that has always appealed to me. I listed my four major areas of interest and the various departments I’d like to serve in. I wrote a nice cover letter and updated my resume. (It didn’t need much updating. I’ve been a self-employed writer since 2007.)

I think it would be an honor to serve in a Biden-Harris administration.

After applying at BuildBackBetter.gov, I received an automated response saying my application was received and that jobs will be awarded even after Inauguration Day, so I don’t need to be worried if I don’t hear more from them right away.

So, I can bask in the hope that something will come of it.  Turning my writing talents loose in service to the nation would be just terrific…

Wish me luck!
