Why The Far Right Cracks Me Up

Why The Far Right Cracks Me Up
“If the progressives win with their ‘everybody’s equal and should get the same chance in life to succeed’ malarkey, I’m moving to Australia.”
“If Trump is impeached, I’m moving to Canada.”
“If Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren win the Presidency, I’m moving to _______ (fill in the blank).”
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!
What they’ll find when they get to Australia, or Canada, or Costa Rica, or Vietnam, or almost anywhere else in the world where a person would choose to relocate will be everything that Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are trying to get for this country: universal health care, free higher education, paid maternity leave and child care!
Low-information voters ought to subscribe to International Living Magazine if they think I’m blowing smoke.
Sanders and Warren only want for us what most of the rest of the world takes for granted: knowing that their taxes will support NOT corporate subsidies or standing armies, but infrastructure and the necessities of life that all human beings need to live decent-quality lives without fearing going bankrupt–and for less money then we’re paying in taxes right now here in the U.S.
But instead, low-information voters listen to corporate shills on mainstream media (check out the ads on corporate media–who’s paying the bills? Big Pharma, Oil and Gas Companies, big corporations, people with lobbyists infesting Capitol Hill in every state and nationally) and Faux News, who keep them afraid, very afraid, of having what the rest of the world have as citizens of whatever country they live in.
The far right is scared spit-less of a bogeyman created by companies that don’t want them looking at the truth because the truth will set them free and cause all kinds of problems for the super-rich.
All kinds of problems, like paying their fair share of taxes so our infrastructure can stop crumbling and our safety net (Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, food stamps, etc.) doesn’t need to be raided to keep them fat and happy…
and firing the middleman (insurance companies) so people can have health care that can’t bankrupt them for less than the health care they have now…
and making college tuition-free so everyone who wants a good education so they can compete can get one without being locked out by fees or loans that put them in bondage for decades after they leave institutions of higher learning…
and paying a sufficiently generous minimum living wage for every kind of employment…
and jobs that are predictable scheduling-wise, so those who have to hold down two or more of them aren’t at the mercy of companies that need full-time workers but hire only part-time ones so they don’t have to pay for health insurance, pensions, and other benefits, leaving workers unable to piece together multiple jobs…
You know, the foundation-type stuff that makes surviving more than a constant struggle to keep one’s head above water!!!
Far right, low-information voters are very afraid of anyone who isn’t just like them (white, incurious, low-income, and poorly educated). They’re afraid of people of color, immigrants, liberals, educated people, scientists, you name it, because “others” are very scary, you know? Very scary!
It’s ridiculous! I don’t know how we’ll survive unless the rest of us get out and vote as if ALL our rights depend on it.
Americans come in all colors, shapes, sizes, faiths, and traditions. European Americans have been trying for centuries to make us majority European-descended, but it’s always been a losing battle because it’s supposed to be a losing battle.
Race is a construct. We’re all humans with the same needs: clean water, fresh air, enough to eat and roofs over our heads. A job that sustains us and our loved ones without killing us in the process.
We’re all made in the same way by the same process. We’re no more “different” than a black, white, cream, or chocolate Labrador Retriever. We should be celebrating what makes us the same instead of focusing on the pitifully puny thing that makes us different: our pigmentation!
Why is this so hard to understand?
Why do far right low-income, under-educated white people think it’s immigrants and people of color who are keeping them from achieving their American Dream?
According to Faux News, it’s because of Muslims, and illegals, and liberals, and LGBTQI folks, and Black Lives Matter and Antifa…
When in reality it’s because rich white people (you know, like the folks on Faux who are making megabucks working as shills of the Far Right) deny them equal access to their cushy jobs and point the fingers at everyone else saying, “They’re the ones you ought to be worried about! They’re barking at your heels, insisting on the same rights you have, and are hankering to become as well off as you are, which will make you as poverty-stricken as they are! Beware! They’re bad to the bone. Watch out!!!”
And Donald Trump is their ringleader. And David Duke loves The Donald. And Nazis love The Donald.
And Q…don’t forget Q!
It’s pathetic that with as much GOOD information as there is on the Internet, they’re pointed to the crap that keeps them scared and misled.
