They Both Want Me Back!
I did two radio interviews this weekend–the first at Voices of the West the second for Standard Orbit–and they both want me back again in 2016. WOO HOO!
To paraphrase Sally Field: “They like me! They really like me!” That bodes well… and I’m DE-lighted.
Both mentioned my energy level and enthusiasm. Are these two attributes really all that rare in the interview world? I sure hope not! If they are, I wonder why…
Maybe interviewees get jaded after doing scores of these, but I don’t do them all that often, so my enthusiasm for them hasn’t waned yet. I hope it never does. I’ll stop doing them if it does. ‘Cause if listeners can’t catch my enthusiasm for the man, what’s the point? I want them to want to get to know, and to love, De as much as I did/still do. That’s the goal. I want his legacy to be more extensive than “just a great actor.” Behind that actor was a great man!
It’s a privilege to get the opportunity to share my passion for DeForest Kelley and his career. I don’t know how many more years I’ll be able to do this to extend his legacy, but for as long as I’m able, I want to do it.
I owe him that. I owe his fans–new and old–that..
You can hear the interview I did for Voices Of the West now at their website. Under NEWS, click on Voices of the West, 08-20-16. (When the interview gets pushed off the NEWS section by newer interviews, you’ll be able to find my interview under PODCASTS.)
Standard Orbit’s interview with me will air on September 12th at 8 a.m. I’ll post a link to the interview as soon as I have it on September 12th or after.
