Just Submitted Three DeForest Kelley Articles to Three Different Magazines

DeForestKelley.jpg

I just submitted three articles about DeForest Kelley to three different publications, just in time for the 25th anniversary of his passing on June 11th, 2024.

I have already been published in two of the magazines I submitted pieces to (years ago): Star Trek Magazine/StarTrek.com and Cowboys and Indians.

The third one I submitted to (for the first time ever) is AARP.  I’m hopeful they will pick it up and consider me for future pieces on other topics.

I tried finding Parade Magazine‘s writer’s guidelines or pitch email, but came up empty. They don’t want to be found, apparently, and they don’t accept email submissions.

I’m trying to think of other publications that pay for articles.  I need to start writing for pay under my own name if I’m not going to be getting additional writing clients.

TWO NEW BOOKS ARE OUT NOW

In the past four months, I’ve published two new books at Amazon, Trailblazer and Stage Coach.

They’re getting good reviews. (There’s one 3-star review on Trailblazer, but the rest are all 5’s.)

But for the next couple of months, I should focus some time every day on DeForest Kelley’s enduring legacy, since he will become top of mind as we get closer to June 11th. Crossing my fingers that I can get some more money coming in here, because AI early adopters are trying that instead of hiring pro writers, so I’m at a disadvantage when it comes to finding start up clients, at least until they discover that AI isn’t up to par when it comes to sales writing — and, in my professional opinion, never will be at least while I’m alive.
