Goodbye Obama Nation, Make Way for the Abomination

KSHeadshot SchoolMarm FAVE

I apologize if the title of this blog offends some of you, but I’m hurting tonight. This is the last night the Obama family will inhabit the White House. Tomorrow night a nasty, sexist, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, pussy-grabbing reprobate will be living there, desecrating the People’s House with his actions and whatever policies his gerrymandered majority party minions in Congress can push through for him. The very idea makes me sick to my stomach.

Despite the fact that more than 2.5 million people voted for his opponent than voted for him (not to mention the millions of votes that went for other presidential candidates), we’re stuck with what the gerrymandered Electoral College electors have saddled us with: a bloated, blowhard narcissist who thinks his “gut instincts”, mean-spirited notions and hand-picked administration (old, white fundamentalist male millionaires, for the most part) are sufficient to “make America great again”.

I thought I was “over” the horror and shock of this sordid reality, but I’m not. Tomorrow–January 20th, what would have been my beloved DeForest Kelley’s 97th birthday had he lived– is the day it officially happens. I want to vomit.

If I died tonight, it would be all right with me.  I simply do not want to acknowledge what’s befalling America tomorrow.  It’s too painful…

Nothing–nothing!–would make me happier than to be wrong about my feelings about the new president. Alas, based on the people he has picked to help him, I am only too certain that my feelings about him are going to be confirmed in spades. That’s what makes it so awful. And his VP is equally frightening, for different reasons.

I have never felt this way about another person–ever.  I know too many people who have known him, who loathe him, and who did not vote for him. The ghostwriter of The Art of The Deal loathes him and tried forewarning voters. Contractors who were stiffed by him tried to warn voters. I mean, the truth was out there for all to see… and yet…and yet…

If there is a God, we really need a makeover of epic proportions right now…something Noah’s ark-sized…to wash away the so-called far right fundamentalist Christians (The American Taliban) and the media conglomerates who helped get this POTUS as far as the presidential podium.  Surely we’re in need of a serious housecleaning.

The guy who said he’d drain the swamp has put more alligators into it and will be reinforcing the banks to accommodate them all.

I am in agony tonight for my country and for the world…

I don’t know if we can survive the two years it will take to begin to stop this train wreck. More progressive citizens need to unite and protest, and run for office locally, regionally and nationally so we can stop the bleeding. This cannot stand.

Hi Kris, I hope something good happened to you today for De’s birthday. I’m at least a little hopeful because we are willing to fight. My sister and I are going to an event in our state for the Women’s March on Washington tomorrow. Some of my friends posted live Facebook videos from protests today. We are the future.
We also celebrated De’s birthday which was fun.

Good for you for joining a women’s march. Looks like we stood up by the millions for women’s equal rights, equal pay, health care, and other policy matters that affect women. HUGS FOR WALKING. Stay active! The adventure continues!
