After watching the hour and a twenty  minute corona virus Round Table last night (which you can see above if you want to feel better about things), I went to bed and had a series of dreams about overcomers and overcoming last night.

I don’t recall the details now, but I think the round table and the dreams were just what I needed right now to gain a loftier, more positive perspective.

I know the GOP loathes “The Squad”— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar. I never could (and never will) figure out why, unless they’re just scared spit-less of active, intelligent progressive women of color (Well, of course they are! They’re scared of any women in/with power unless they’re in their so-called “conservative (Taliban-like) fold because FAMILY VALUES, which they rarely honor (personally) but want to impose on the rest of us via some twisted version of theocracy.). (Spoiler alert: EVERY form of theocracy is twisted. Mandating that people conform to a specific set of religious precepts is anti-democratic and a form of tyranny.)

But I adore these women and Bernie. They’re on the front lines right now doing their best to make sure that any bail out plan Congress comes up with helps EVERYONE who has been impacted by this corona virus crisis and Wall Street meltdown, except corporations which still retain more than sufficient liquidity to get low interest loans and rebuild.

They’re also actively engaging in their communities to bring help and hope to the most marginalized and fragile among us.

It appears Rashida Tlaib is the “crier” of the Squad.  When she mentioned tearing up when the people in her neighborhood stood out on porches or in front of their homes at 5 PM (an agreed upon time) to simply wave at each other in solidarity for better times to come,  Bernie mused (and AOC and Ilhan Omar concurred) “You cry all the time anyway”  {when touched by humanity’s resilience and its ability to keep on keepin’ on despite the array of obstacles arrayed against us, natural and political] (For which I say HURRAY, because so do I!)  She also appears to be the most smiley of the bunch, which is infectious as hell. I couldn’t help smiling just listening to her. She lifted my spirits enormously all by herself!

I have to say, my spirits were lifted just listening to what Bernie and the Squad (and others) are doing and trying to do to make sure we all get through this with as little disruption to our lives and fortunes as possible. They’re taking the reins they’re afforded by their positions in Congress and leading us to better days and more serene, secure lives.

I could go negative here and contrast what they’re doing to what the GOP and Trump’ minions are doing, but that would be putting the focus on what’s wrong instead of what’s right, and that’s wasted energy. Voting them out won’t be wasted energy, but anything else pretty much is.  It’s time to stop listening to the grifters and liars and start listening to the true heart of positive American leadership.

When I see smart, bright, dedicated young people like The Squad, whose time in power can elevate and help us all, I feel more hopeful and positive. AOC is too young to be POTUS or VP this time, but it wont be long before she can run and win.

Bernie Sanders and the Squad are four compelling reasons why term limits are the wrong way to go about redeeming our nation. People who can’t be bought should be able to stay in and work for the rest of us for as long as their constituents believe they are doing just that.

My heart is singing this morning because Bernie and The Squad have our backs.  I need to keep remembering that so I don’t lose all hope.

I don’t do well when it all feels futile and hopeless. It saps my energy and my will to keep on keepin’ on.

I need to take larger swigs of my own medicine
