Christmas Treasures Galore
I got spoiled this Christmas. Seriously spoiled.
I now own a serious men’s work jacket that isn’t hand-me-down for the first time in my life. It’s brand-spankin’ new and I just love it. (Thank you, Jackie!) I wore it to the store this morning and even got called “Sir” at the checkout counter. Score! Works for me!
Jackie also got me a kitty cat throw that is adorable and she made fudge (fudge that would put Seattle’s Best and all of the other famous fudge makers out of business if she ever decided to go pro.) (I think Cathy Strote has a similar recipe.)
Goats, Goats, Goats
Atop my head this morning at the checkout counter was a black, brand new knitted cap with three white goats on the front. I was also wearing brand-new goat socks.
I got three writing pads, six adorable note cards and a 2018 calendar, all with goats on them.
All of the goat things were from fellow goat-lover, Lisa.
Lisa also got me the new keyboard I’m typing this on because she noticed my old one was missing letters on most of the keys. (I go through keyboards like hikers go through water and trail mix.)
I also got two long-sleeve mens’ shirts from her. Yes!!! They are so soft and comfortable against my skin…
(And don’t forget: she got me the Christmas-themed Cats Pajamas Union Suit at Thanksgiving, seen below, so I could ho ho ho my way to Christmas and New Year’s Day in them.)
Plus she cooked a scrumptious Christmas dinner.
There were no-shows at dinner because the weather outside was semi-frightful, but we had a blast anyway.
At Victorian Country Christmas earlier this month Lisa got me the adorable chicken-in-a-pen-with-a-cat-on-top display, seen below.
It sits on the kitchen table next to the larger display of two cow-hands (cows dressed as ranch hands) that I got at the same place (Christmas Revisited booth at VCC). My kitchen table is adorable!
Lisa got Hunter and Patches, my cats, several cat toys, too. They’re going nuts over them. Catnip will do that to a lot of cats. Hunter wanted to hunt me this morning after getting a whiff of catnip! I quickly disentangled myself from that idea–he plays for keeps when he’s “high”!
Jamie got me some warm, soft, fuzzy wintertime socks. I wore them all day yesterday. Phil and Wendy got me a new camera because the one I have is misbehaving. It’s a Vivitar. It’s bright red; should be easy to spot when I want it–that’s for sure!
Ben got me a whimsical rendition of three baby llamas in an old-fashioned oak barrel taking a bath plus lots of fun food–oranges, a banana, candy canes, mixed nuts, freeze-dried coffee, and other tasty stuff.
Alan Cox sent me a DVD of one of De’s westerns (Warlock). DE-lightful! (It has a better cover than the one shown here.)
Something (don’t know what yet) is on its way to me from Anne Richardson in Australia. Hmmm…
George and Sue Rebar gave me $30 which will get me from now to the middle of January in gasoline, as rarely as I drive anymore.
What else? I know I’m forgetting something. Probably several somethings because I’ve put everything away now. Usually, I keep everything together until I’ve written a blog, but I didn’t do that this time. Shame on me!
I hope your loved ones spoiled you equally rotten. If not, shame on them! You deserve to be spoiled.
And how do I know this? Santa told me! If you weren’t spoiled this year at Christmas, he wants you to know you were robbed!
