Happy Birthday to Me: The Day After

Spent a quiet day on my birthday yesterday. It was heaven…
Except for a fun noon outing to have lunch with my BFF, Lisa, I spent the day reading, napping and basking in the afterglow of Friday’s delightful experience with Karl Urban.
My favorite client of all time surprised me with a $100 Amazon gift card. (She surprised me at Christmas with a nice bonus, too.)
I don’t know if she’d want me to identify her, so I won’t, but I’ve already put the gift card to good use:
- I ordered the boxed set of all six seasons of GLEE, a TV show I love (albeit years after everyone else fell in love with it–I just watched it for the first time last year on Prime). I can see why it won so many awards…
- I’ll be getting The Greatest Showman on DVD when it comes out in April.
- And I order Amazon books via BookBub (delivered to my Kindle Fire) every few days, so that’s where the balance of the gift card will go–to timeless treasures!
Yeah, I like good musicals–what can I say? I have the original Music Man with Robert Preston and Shirley Jones, Les Miserables with Hugh Jackman, 1776, and heaven only knows how many others!
Yesterday after lunch I stopped at Pier 1 Imports to get a couple of aromatic reed-diffused bottles (patchouli and lavender). While there, I spotted a cute little goat kid sporting an Easter/spring bow, so I had to get it. There are far too few goat goodies out there to suit me!
So yeah, I had a good day. The McNivens got me a card and wrote lovely sentiments in it.
Jackie, my younger sis, got me a seasonal cat dishwasher magnet set but I can’t bear to tuck the off-season ones away, so they’re attached to the front of my refrigerator.
I am well and truly blessed, not just on my birthday but every day, by wonderful friends and family, including my Facebook family. More than 175 people wished me happy birthday yesterday (and the day before, since I have friends Down Under, too, and they’re a day ahead of us here in the U.S.) on my Facebook page.
