I did a search on Kristine M. Smith + goodreads an hour or so ago and was appalled to find a listing that purported to offer FREE copies of my book DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal: A Harvest of Memories from the Fan Who Knew Him Best.

 

My Red Alert Backup Team, Lisa Twining Taylor and Rod Janpol QUICKLY did a little research and were able to find scam alerts, ratings, and contact information for the offending site I spotted. I immediately sent the a DMCA Takedown Notice to the email provided and let them know that they are in violation of my copyright and to cease and desist immediately.

 

The site appears to originate in Russia (no surprise there)…and the likelihood of them actually having the title is next to nil. What they want is your contact information and, if they can get it, your identity and credit card information. DON’T GIVE IT TO THEM!

 

Hopefully everyone who reads this blog knows that the only places to get Up Close and Personal are right here at YellowBalloonPublications.com if you want the audio or PDF versions and at Amazon.com/Createspace  (to get Kindle or either of the two soft cover versions) and at Barnes and Noble, Wal-Mart and other legitimate online retailers (where only the black and white soft cover edition is available).

 

To be sure, the best place to get my books is right here at Yellow Balloon Publications because the links here take you to the least expensive way to get the title in its various incarnations. Like you, I value great value and have created versions in all price ranges so no one needs to feel left out. Whenever I can deprive the middleman of taking the lion’s share of the profit for works I produced, I do so. There’s no shame in that and the middlemen are rich beyond the dreams of Avarice, so they don’t suffer much as a result!

 

I hope you’ll point people to my website if they express an interest in any of my topics or titles. You’ll be doing them–and me–a great favor if you will. Best of all, you’ll help them avoid scams and possible identity theft–always a good thing!
